We are seeking a highly-motivated Regional Counsel to join its APAC Legal Team (in a team of 7 with career progression to Senior Counsel) - YOU will play a crucial role in shaping the legal landscape of our organization regionally and YOU will be the go-to partner for all legal-related issues within your assigned countries and business units. You will be the right-hand of the APAC Head of Legal.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Negotiate, amend, and advise on a variety of commercial & operational contracts (including logistics agreements, product quality agreements, distribution agreements, sale and purchase agreement, general terms and conditions of sale/ purchase, corporate guarantee, indemnity undertakings and warehouse/ storage agreements).
- Advise on wide-ranging operational issues and be proactive in providing strategic solutions including contractual disputes, maritime issues, contamination and product recall matters.
- Be the regional lead in disputes including advising and manage arbitration, litigation, and settlement of commercial disputes, together with internal and external litigation counsel across the APAC region.
- Opportunity for disputes lawyers to be involved in M&A transactions; providing support to APAC Head of Legal in M&A transactions (end-to-end) (no prior M&A experience required)
- Review, update and “own” general terms and conditions as well as internal policies and procedures related to Brenntag’s commercial activities to ensure best practice and regulatory compliance.
- Maintaining awareness of all material internal business developments which are likely to lead to a need for legal advice.
- Managing legal engagement with vendors and suppliers, including resolution of disputes.
- Reviewing and developing precedent documents.
- To provide legal strategic support to cross-functional stakeholders in Asia Pacific.
- Providing support to and reporting to Brenntag APAC Head of Legal.

**YOUR PROFILE**:
**Job Requirement/Specification**:
Education: Bachelor of Laws degree from a tier-1 university in a developed Common Law jurisdiction.
Qualifications: Attorney/ Legal Practitioner License in a Common Law jurisdiction - Singapore qualified lawyers preferred.
Language: Excellent command of the English. Ability to speak and read Simplified Chinese a plus due to support for China / Hong Kong.

**Requirements**:

- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience, with solid training in private practice (dispute resolution and/or commercial law). In-house experience in an MNC an added advantage.
- Familiarity with competition laws and data privacy/ data protection laws a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects under strict deadlines and ability to multi-task and handle highly confidential information.
- Ability to work independently without daily supervision.
- Solid technical competencies in disputes resolution, general corporate and commercial law, contract law, intellectual property law, with excellent drafting skills.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, willingness and competence to learn.
- Self-starter with strong project management, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively work with various departments and business units within Brenntag.
- Commitment to high ethical standards with superb business acumen & common sense.
- Superior communication skills required with the ability to clearly and diplomatically articulate issues, solutions and rationale.
- Strong personality with the ability to implement proper chain of approvals before signing of contracts.
- Outstanding stakeholder management - diplomatic yet firm.
