The Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) is a unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS). Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, SCELSE is linking new insights from the life sciences with expertise from emerging technologies in engineering and natural sciences to understand, harness and control microbial biofilm communities and microbiomes

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and conduct large air sampling campaigns in Singapore in particular in regard to SARS-CoV-2 surveillance
- Conduct analysis of qPCR and genomics data
- Assist in paper writing for any new research discoveries
- Prepare specifications and engineering drawings of the modified air samplers.
- Part of the SCELSE air environmental surveillance team
- Working with the several research assistants in the team
- Occasionally work on-site to install and perform testing at airport, hospital, and other locations.

Competencies and qualification requirements:

- PhD degree related in any related field.
- Experience with air sampling
- Understanding of the technical requirements of air sampling devices
- Molecular biology
- Genomics analysis
- Computational; analysis for source tracking software
- Writing and editing of computer scripts.
- Statistical analysis using the R software packag
