**Job Summary**
Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) is seeking a Business Development Professional to oversee the development and growth of their Corporate book of business. In this role, you'll develop and maintain existing relationships with a desired outcome to build revenue and expand GLG's footprint in Southeast Asia. You'll also drive commercial and account management best practices for the key accounts, motivate and coach account managers in the region, and seek continuous improvement by ensuring the team meets or exceeds their commercial, development, compliance, and people goals.
You will work at the forefront of innovation by collaborating with business leaders to develop, communicate, and implement leading business performance improvement, technology, and people initiatives. You will also be responsible for developing and growing relationships with other top-tier corporate clients across Southeast Asia and be responsible for deepening relationships with existing professionals while identifying new and potential GLG advocates within current accounts and prospective clients. To do this, you will regularly present GLG's platform and engage with top level decision makers to identify opportunities for thoughtful collaboration. You will leverage GLG's CRM tools to track and map client accounts and work collaboratively with your internal colleagues to deliver a differentiated solution to our clients
GLG BDM is responsible for:
- Growing GLG's existing client relationships. Through in-person meetings and phone and virtual interactions, develop relationships with GLG clients, who are primarily senior executives within Corporates. BDMs develop deep relationships with key contact points at clients, and identify cross-selling, upgrades and other revenue opportunities by leveraging the GLG suite of product offerings.
- New Sales Development and Account Management growth: identifying and bringing on new clients in Southeast Asia via a strategic and consultative selling approach. This requires a proven ability to plan and prioritise personal sales activities, account management activities, and customer/prospect prioritization to achieve KPIs.
- Developing organised marketing activities. Plan and hold formal client facing and virtual optimisation meetings, as well as one-on-one client meetings with a view to maintaining and growing GLGs book of client business.
- Collaboration with peers and colleagues across SEA and APAC is critical for success. Working closely with colleagues supporting SEA Corporate clients and other Business Development colleagues and sector-specialized teams leads to excellent Client service and new opportunities.
- Enhancing the GLG brand in Southeast Asia through broader marketing and Client engagement.
**Required Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a Top tier undergraduate institution
- 10+ years of account management or sales experience, ideally in B2B sales with 2-4 years of direct management experience
- Experience within one or multiple industries**: Technology, FSI, Bio-tech, Pharma, Healthcare is preferred**:
- Consultative selling approach with experience selling and growing subscription-based relationships
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills, with a clear focus on Sales, revenue growth and business profit
- Outstanding communication skills, collaborating approach and team player
- Experience interacting with senior executives within Corporates in the region
- The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers in client firms and possesses a passion for problem-solving and delighting clients
- Results-oriented focus and track record of business growth/turnaround
- Proven ability to manage teams and create followership
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, client service-oriented work environment
- Experience with leading teams and success in global/cross-functional collaboration in a metrics-driven, entrepreneurial, and challenging environment
- Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and a passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issues
- A demonstrated ability to read and understand people
