AIG’s underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals. About the role You will undertake a process of legal and commercial risk analysis of tax risks relating to M&A transactions and also standalone tax risks, with a view to providing clients with a bespoke insurance solution that allows them to meet their transaction and tax risk management objectives. Your activities will be focused on underwriting tax risks identified in corporate transactions across all sizes and sectors of business, and all jurisdictions (with Asia Pacific being a focus) carrying out detailed tax risk assessment and analysis, developing and marketing new business, assisting with new tax product development and developing new and existing broker and client relationships. What you need to know: - Underwriting of tax risks identified in corporate transaction risks (both tax risks and special situation contingent risks relating to tax). - Deliver timely and bespoke tax risk insurance documents on tax risk deals. - Implementing agreed strategies with management for growing the book of business. - Develop commercially successful relationships with M&A production and distribution sources - with a focus on brokers, law firms, investment banks, tax advisers and accountants, and private equity funds. - Regularly attend and present at external client meetings, commercial and legal seminars with a view to building relationships. - Propose and develop new tax insurance products. - Advising M&A underwriters on tax risks relating to W&I transactions. What we’re looking for: - Experienced qualified tax professional with a particular focus on Asia Pacific. - Strong technical knowledge in relation to tax law and tax practice. - Excellent business development skills. - Strong written and oral communication skills; extremely proficient drafter of legal and commercial documents. - Ability to negotiate with commercially and legally sophisticated advisors and clients - Highly focused, enthusiastic and creative thinker. - Strong interpersonal skills. - Ability to understand and execute commercial decision making in a context of legal risk assessment. - Specific experience in advising M&A Insurance carriers on tax risks a plus LI-CD A look at our Benefits We're proud to offer a range of employee benefits and resources that help you protect what matters most - your health care, savings, financial protection and wellbeing.
