**Search and Rescue Paramedic - Papua New Guinea**:
Multiple Search and Rescue roles in Papua New Guinea

The person who holds this position will be required to provide initial emergency response to project personnel by ground ambulance or rotary wing aircraft to the standards set out by International SOS policies, procedures, and the project specific Medical Emergency Response Plan in consultation with International SOS and Client medical contacts. The SAR paramedic will be required to work closely with the site ERT and respond to emergencies in the industrial setting as required-working at heights, confined space, use of a respirator or open circuit SCBA and maintain certifications as required by project SHES leads.

They will be required to work closely with other members of the AME team to provide treatment and to organize and support aero-medical evacuations with the assistance and advice of the Sydney Assistance Centre. The person in this role is required to have and maintain a high degree of physical fitness and will be required to work in inclement weather, hot & humid conditions, varying terrains and altitudes.

**Required Work Experience**
- An in-depth work experience in paramedic intensive and critical care with recognized qualification from Aus/NZ/USA or equivalent.
- Strong experience as an acute/emergency care paramedic including high level emergency response in a variety of settings (rural, urban, industrial)
- Experience working on an emergency response in a remote location
- Experience working in/on technical rope rescue, confined space rescue, vehicle extrication and industrial rescue teams
- Knowledge and experience in the aviation industry, in particular aero-medical evacuation is essential
- Aero-Medical evacuation Technical Rescue and/or Search and Rescue experience
- Ability to provide emergency response working independently or as part of an Emergency Response Team, SR team or AME team

**Required Qualifications**
- Relevant AME/SAR paramedic qualifications including a minimum of five years post-graduate in either air or ground ambulance experience.
- Current ACLS, BLS, ITLS (PHTLS) certification.
- Rescue Aircrew/Wireman Certificate
- Vehicle and Aircraft rescue Extrication Training
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET)
- Required Languages: Strong written and verbal English language skills

**Travel / Rotation Requirements**
- permanent roles - 5 weeks on 5 weeks off
