**Alliance to End Plastic Waste**

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (“Alliance”) is an international non-profit organisation partnering with government, environmental and economic development NGOs and communities around the world to address the challenge to end plastic waste in the environment. Through programmes and partnerships, the Alliance focuses on solutions in four strategic areas: infrastructure, innovation, education and engagement, and clean up. As of Dec 2021, the Alliance has more than 85 member companies and supporters representing global companies and organisations across the plastic value chain.

As part of its organic growth, the Alliance has a mandate to co-fund projects which will increasingly be higher in dollar value and complexity individually and as aggregated portfolio. To catalyse capital, the Alliance will deepen partnership with co-funders including through financially regulated vehicles (e.g. development financial institutions, family offices, venture capitals, private equity and sovereign funds).

**Manager, Risk Management**

Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the Manager of Risk Management will provide guidance, validation and advisory support to the Risk Management function mainly responsible for project aspects of the enterprise-wide risk management. This includes enhancing the project risk management framework augmenting its core elements including risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring and reporting of the Alliance, including for projects and project portfolio.

The role holder will support the Head of Risk to ensure that the management of enterprise risk is effective and value-added to the Alliance’s mission and achievement of its goals. This includes:
**Projects and Project Portfolio**:

- Working closely with the VP Projects and Finance staff, liaising with the Projects and Legal teams, on end-to-end process to ensure due diligence is followed;
- Enhancement of business process governance from a lifecycle perspective - management of Risk across the End-to-End Process in the funding/investment lifecycle.
- Supporting Head of Risk on advice to risk review process for the Investment Committee;
- Providing Training, Guidance and Mentoring in a) Managing project risk incl. KYC/KYP issues; and b) Enterprise risk management issues;
- Assisting with internal audits and compliance of projects and partners (limited travel);
- Maintaining an insurance register to ensure no lapses in coverage, and maintain a record of claims;
- Overseeing the Risk Analyst and guiding a growing team responsible for operational risk management, deputise and help lead periodic reporting; manage outsourced 3rd party service providers and advisors as required; and
- Various other ad-hoc enterprise projects.

**Senior Leadership Team support**:

- Provide advice or risk related support as required;
- Support functional Vice Presidents as directed by Head of Risk.

**Enterprise Risk Management**:

- Periodic enterprise-wide risk management review, appreciation incl. L&D and remedial steps;
- Support and prioritise incident and crisis management issues; and
- Design and testing of contingency planning.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 8-10 years of experience across risk, strategy and finance roles
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in audit, risk, compliance or due diligence
- Professional degree / certification (e.g. CFA, GARP, PRMIA, PARIMA, Chartered Accountant) preferred
- Green finance, financial institutional and/or non-profit sector experience is ideal
- Proven talent management experience
- Investigative and proactive mindset; comfortable challenging assumptions
- An interest in sustainability topics, finance and risk management; comfortable working with numbers
- Strong report writing skills;
- Able to handle confidential data at all times; and
- Agility to help build then operate processes as Alliance evolves, open to stakeholder viewpoints, implement change through influence and deliver outcomes.
