To continue strengthening our brand reputation and effectively communicating our Temasek story, the Public Affairs team is looking for a Associate / Senior Associate to help execute our Sustainabilty-centered brand and communications strategy.
The Team
The Public Affairs function is made up of four pillars:
- Brand Building and Positioning
- Media and Issues Management
- Reputation Management
- Programme Management
This role will focus on Brand Building and Positioning as well as Media and Issues Management, but from time to time will also cover cross-team assignments across the other pillars.
**The Role**
This role has a deep focus on sustainability-centred business and corporate activities, given Temasek’s long term commitment on mainstreaming sustainability and strong desire to actively articulate its sustainability journey to diverse stakeholders. These range from business associates and partners, governments and regulators, to sustainability and ESG-focused international boards and organisations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with relevant business stakeholders to raise the profile of the firm’s various sustainability-centered projects, deals and initiatives amongst diverse, global audiences
- Assist with building the institution’s overarching Sustainability brand positioning and narrative through media, industry and community engagement
- Support and implement communications aligned with Temasek’s sustainability narrative, including handling media queries and issue communications
- Contribute to the production of sustainability-themed content (eg. videos, feature stories, op-eds, infographics etc)
- Develop, manage and maintain central knowledge database of the Sustainability Group’s messaging and various activities with a strategic communications imperative, including the team’s events and media calendar
- Assist with monitoring and analysing relevant media coverage
- Contribute to and manage various integrated communications programmes and campaigns, as required
- Manage agency partners and vendors to deliver on these programmes and campaigns
**Requirements and key attributes**
- Between 2-4 years (Associate)/ 5 to 7 years (Senior Associate) of relevant work experience in mass communications, public relations, journalism, sustainability or other related fields
- Demonstrable working knowledge of the global sustainability space, with informed perspectives on the latest industry policies, developments and trends
- Excellent writing skills and a critical thinker who can ‘connect the dots’. Proficiency in digital content/marketing experience will be an advantage
- A self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment
- Adaptable, motivated, and has initiative and a “can do” attitude, with a strong interest in sustainability
- Ability to work constructively in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and partners; an independent worker who is also a team player capable of contributing towards shared goals
