**Job description**:
We are looking for an experienced Data Analytics/Science Manager who combines entrepreneurial mind-set, strong leadership qualities, and exceptional business acumen. This role involves steering our data team’s daily operations and driving the innovation of our data products. Your work will significantly enhance the data insights delivered to our B2B clients by utilizing a combination of internal and external datasets.
As an integral member of the SSON R&A team, you will take the lead in communicating the team’s strategic projects to various internal stakeholders.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leadership: Guide, motivate, and manage a lean team of data scientists and web developers to meet their targets regarding product volume, timeliness, completeness, and accuracy. Key duties include training, goal setting, resource allocation, performance management, and promoting staff development. Ensure meticulous documentation of all processes.
- Product Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Review and redesign data models and algorithms to ensure the accuracy and up-to-dateness of data products.
- Optimize the utilization of internal and external data sources and drive necessary changes and enhancements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior leadership, sales, marketing, and tech partners to thoroughly understand, document, analyze, and convert customer needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications
**Requirements**:
- A Bachelor's degree with a strong math and programming background with experience in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the analytics domain.
- A minimum one year’s experience of managing and motivating a team within a commercial data/information operation, creating new metrics, indices, and performance measurement.
- Advanced usage of R and Python. Strong ability to analyze, interpret and present data using advanced graphing software e.g. Tableau, D3, QlikView, Highcharts, Superset.
- Experience with sourcing data sets from publicly available sources and indexing external websites.
- Experience with large data sets and ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, e.g., Agile, Feature Driven Development, Rapid Application Development.
- Have a mindset to streamline and automate processes. Experience using AI tools and Foundational Models to automate processes or workflows would be highly advantageous.
- Expert analytical thinking and thought leadership skills, with a knack for communicating analytical findings to senior management.
- A self-driven professional who excels both individually and in a team setting. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are essential, as is comfort in working with multiple teams globally in virtual environment
