Accounts Payable Associate

**Position Overview**
**Responsibilities**
The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for learning all facets of the accounts payable function and demonstrating strong abilities in the following areas:
- Working with internal parties to obtain the necessary invoice payment approvals
- Coding/approval of invoices including the allocations of legal/consulting invoices
- Processing semimonthly payments, including checks and ACH payments are paid on time
- Auditing employee expense reports and reconciling the corporate credit card
- Following-up on vendor and inter-office inquiries
- Handling bank transactions including deposits, wires and recording incoming and outgoing funds
- Supporting staff accountants with research inquiries, journal entries and expense analysis
- Accurately entering data in the fixed assets database and further automating the existing process
- Assisting with tax filings
- Process intercompany and staff claims, ensure intercompany, staff and vendors receive payment advice after payment release.
- Aiding with process improvement projects including the implementation of a paperless workflow
Instituting and/or maintaining procedural manuals for the accounts payable group
- To accept any new job scope as assigned and any other ad-hoc assignments.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum ACCA or Bachelor’s degree equivalent in Accounting or Business
- Minimum 3-4 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Experience with SAP B1 or a similar accounting software program
- Experience with FAS or a similar fixed assets software program is beneficial but not required
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, responsible and proactive
- Adept at multi-tasking and capable of meeting firm deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment and to coordinate daily job tasks with fellow associate
- Handle account payable functions with mínimal supervision and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
- Read/write - Mandarin (language skill) fluency a plus, but not necessary. Helpful for external comms with HK team and external parties
- Read/write - Cantonese is okay for internal comms (but less important for HK team)
