Global Consulting is one of Munich Re’s areas of strategic growth. We are a trusted risk advisor in primary insurance focused on improving our clients’ portfolio performance and help them create and execute on new business opportunities. Our main goal is to enrich Munich Re's value proposition to increase the profitability of existing reinsurance business and to generate new reinsurance business and fees. We are based in Munich, London, Singapore, Sydney and Beijing enjoying a global mandate.
Your job
- You will be a key member of Munich Re’s global consulting unit in Singapore, comprising actuaries, data scientists and product developers who are pushing the boundaries of (re)insurance. You will also work closely with our local and regional team of client managers, underwriters, catastrophe modellers, engineers and cyber experts.
- You will support the end-to-end development of insurance and analytics solutions for our reinsurance clients and partners. This means understanding the business needs, gathering and analysing data, developing products, and ensuring that your solutions add value to Munich Re and our clients.
- Your insurance and analytics solutions will cover the insurance value chain such as product development, pricing and claims management.
- Analytics, digital, technology and innovation will feature prominently in your solutions developed for our clients.
- You will need to understand our clients’ business needs and the range of insurance and analytics solutions appropriate for our clients.
- You will cover non-life markets across Asia-Pacific.
**Profile**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or a relevant financial or quantitative discipline in a leading university.
- Experience working across geographies and an understanding of various market environments.
- Well versed in programming languages such as Python and R, and Microsoft solutions such as Power BI and Excel (i.e. can perform complex functions).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (in particular Microsoft Azure), advanced SQL, RESTful APIs and microservices would be preferred.
- Committed, motivated, and willing to learn new tools and technologies.
