As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the R&D Mechanical team that lead the design and development of innovative new products in Wireline & Perforating Services (WPS). This position refers to leading the design of parts and assemblies for downhole mechanical tools, starting from the sub-system and up to the full system level of the company products. The position includes mechanical design as part of projects while working with multi-disciplinary teams including electronics, system engineering, technical service and more. This position also includes interfaces with other groups related to transfer of design to production, manufacturing engineering and field-testing support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Use mechanical design software to create complete mechanical design concepts for robust and low-risk downhole tools that will complete the project scope within the budget and schedule parameters defined by the project scope documents.
- Be responsible for delivering parts, assemblies and systems from feasibility study and proof of concept through to developed prototypes and production.
- Design of motion systems, pressure housings, mechanisms, electronic packaging, and electrical design support (DXF, cables routing).
- Supporting transfer to production, defining basic assembly and service instructions.
- Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
- Verify the functionality of products design by developing test methodology and specifications to ensure that products design meet applicable performance requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 - 10 years R&D experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs
- Proficiency in using Solidworks modelling 3D CAD design software is a plus.
- Proven experience in mechanical design particularly in mechanism or kinematics design.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels
- Creative and love to think out of the box
- Design experience in downhole tools for high pressure high temperature (HPHT) environment will be advantageous.
