GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Equity Analyst is member of the Research Asia team and shall endeavour to fulfil the ambitions defined and outlined for the team by Head Research Asia. He/she shall ensure active risk management and meet all regulatory and internal compliance expectations relating to the role.

The incumbent shall publish insights on house view, macroeconomic outlook, stock coverage and thematic ideas for client distribution on a regular basis with an emphasis on delivering positive investment performance. He/she shall provide regular updates and perform active lifecycle management on such investment views and stock coverage. Further, he/she shall support/participate in client outreach events, internal meetings as well as internal sales initiatives. The incumbent shall also build highly effective relationships across the Bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and its latest products and services to optimise service to clients.

The Equity Analyst reports to Head Research Asia.

**People **Management**
- Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment
- Motivate and provide guidance/feedback to other team members to improve overall performance

**Client Management (internal & external)**
- Provide regular insights on house view, macroeconomic outlook, stock coverage and thematic/sector ideas focused on positive investment performance/returns
- Regular updates and lifecycle management of investment views and stock coverage
- Deliver timely commentaries prior to/post significant market events
- Support/participate in client outreach events (i.e. Market Outlook seminars) and internal meetings/sales initiatives (i.e. Morning Meetings)
- Regular consultation with Front representatives to be kept updated of clients' needs/demands and take appropriate measures to fulfil them, where relevant
- Support Relationship Managers in Client meetings

**Business Management**
- Work to fulfil the ambitions of the team defined by Head Research Asia
- Regular review of the function's practices to ensure efficiency and productivity are kept at optimal levels

**Compliance & Risk Management**
- Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements
- Adhere to all relevant Local User Manuals
- Ensure timely communication to Relationship Managers/Clients regarding significant price movements of covered stocks
- Regular assessment of the function's practices to mitigate associated risks arising out of and relating to the said function
- Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

**Professional and Technical**
- Relevant higher educational and professional background, preferably with CFA and with more than 12 years of relevant working experience in established financial institutions
- Strong command of financial analytics skills especially in Equities
- Represent the Bank's and shareholders' interests at all times
- Ability to provide advisory to the business
- Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and broad understanding of the financial market and products
- High proficiency in business Mandarin would be an advantage to work with and support Mandarin-speaking clients

**Regulatory**
- MAS licensed representative
- CACS 1 & 2
- Familiar with regulatory expectations and requirements
- Cross border rules and regulations
