**Regional Cloud Solutions Architect (APJ-India)**

**THE ROLE**:
We are looking for our Regional Cloud Solutions Architect (SA) to help enable AMD’s public cloud vendors, regional local hosting providers, and partners to deliver a new era of computing performance and efficiency to AMD’s commercial customers in APJ and India regions. This is an exciting, commissioned, customer-facing technical sales role in the fast-growing Datacenter business segment within AMD. As a critical part of the team that is driving AMD’s overall cloud business to meet or exceed revenue goals, the Solution Architect owns the technical engagement with customers and partners in their assigned territory, and is accountable to their regional or worldwide manager, and to AMD commercial Business Development Executives. Those customers are large enterprise customers and cloud-native Software as a Service developers. Those partners are the public cloud provider and regional cloud hoster account teams, professional services organizations, and global systems integrators.

**THE PERSON**:

- OEM solution architect, technologist, technical account manager, customer engineer, enterprise architect or cloud-native architect with excellent people and communications skills
- Technically proficient, outgoing, proactive, organized, driven, self-motivated and self-sufficient, yet collaborative and willing to assist teammates with their own unique challenges
- Possess solid understanding of end-customer software stacks and how those stacks map to public cloud and regional cloud provider offerings

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist sales in the development and execution of the overall strategy for large named accounts
- Drive awareness of and articulate the benefits of AMD-based cloud offerings to end customers and partners
- Collaborate with AMD and partner sales teams to present relevant details of AMD-based solutions
- Craft and manage the execution of evaluations and proofs of concept to ensure a quality solution is delivered
- Manage and/or drive to closure all technical issues and escalations from end customers and partners
- Support sales in understanding end customer deployment requirements (regional capacity, instance families)
- Build a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and customer demands to provide feedback to AMD design and product marketing teams
- Self-motivated self-improvement (training and education) on relevant technical topics
- Prepare and deliver partner and internal AMD technical training sessions
- Home office with regional travel up to 40%, occasional travel to the US (Texas or California)

**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE**:

- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, Software Architect, Applications Engineer, or similar role
- Excellent English verbal, written and presentation communications skills (Hindi, Korean, or Japanese proficiency a plus)
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in one or more solution areas including Docker and Kubernetes, big data analytics, HPC, data warehousing, log analytics, databases, web servers, DevOps, or VDI
- History of success through applied prioritization and time management, program management, issue tracking and organizational skills
- Record of cultivating strong internal (sales, marketing, engineering) and external (customer and partner) relationships
- Demonstrated success working remotely
- Customer-facing experience strongly preferred
- Provided consulting services for Application Modernization through app rehosting (Lift and Shift), refactoring, rebuilding or replacement strategies etc.

**ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE**:

- Knowledge of Infrastructure as a Service offerings from at least one public cloud provider
- Private, public and hybrid cloud strategy, architecture design and deployment experience (e.g., VMWare Cloud Foundation, Red Hat OpenShift)
- Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience in the setup, configuration and administration of server systems and operating system software

**ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND CERTIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Certified Solut
