The Research Fellow will work on a hyperspectral imaging and spectroscopy project for the development of a crop health monitoring and nutrient analysis system. The Research Fellow is expected to work with the PI and other team members for doing R & D and take key role for the development and optimization of the proposed system

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform research in experimental optics and develop novel approaches to crop health monitoring, nutrient analysis and instrumentation.
- Conduct and coordinate research within NTU and PFSAP in line with its research strategy and under the supervision of the PIs and Collaborators.
- Manage the research project in a team-based, cross-functional research environment, which include mentoring students and working with research fellows, collaborators and technical and other support staff.
- Publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing; Attend and present research findings and papers at academic meetings, and to contribute to the external visibility of the Centre.
- Draft research report for PIs and undertake specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the PIs.
- Attend meetings and to participate (where necessary) in other committees and working groups.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of the research work

Job Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electronics Engineering, Precision Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline with optics and instrumentation background
- Previous experience in hyperspectral imaging, laser spectroscopy, LIBS, and image processing desirable
- Expertise in handling and maintenance of high power CW and pulsed laser systems is essential
- Possess good programming, Optical instrumentation, automation and image processing skills (e.g. Electronics, LabView, Zemax, OSLO, TracePro, MATLAB, Python, ImageJ)
- Proven publication track record would be an advantage
