**What the role is**

**What you will be working on**

As an Engineer for the Network Services (West), you will lead the Leak Detection Unit. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

- Planning and Scheduling Dynamic Leak Detection programme for the water supply network to ensure all the sub-regions are surveyed for leaks at least once in 6-months or more than once for leak prone areas.
- Ensuring all possible leaks detected during the daily leak detection programme are traced and forwarded to BUs for repair
- Ensuring all the Ad-hoc leaks feedback from BUs, Water Service & Operations Centre (WSOC) and public are attended to and traced.
- Verifying leak locations arising from alerts generated by leak detection systems
- Compiling weekly & monthly reports for dynamic leak detection programme.
- Planning and calling new tenders to engage services of contractor for different types of leak detection works and other necessary work
- Managing and administering leak detection services contracts, which involve operationalising both routine and emergency leak detection services during and after office hours including budgeting
- Actively exploring new and cutting-edge technologies for leak detection and pipeline condition assessment and work with the suppliers for R&D, trials or Proof of Concept (POC) to explore the feasibility and roll-out by PUB.
- Managing the Leak Detection Unit for effective resources deployment
- Liaising with various contractors, BU officers, site personnel, etc. to ensure smooth daily operations
- Conducting training and sharing on the leak detection programme and the technologies for the staff, visitors and students.
- Compiling and presenting statistics such as distribution losses, sales and operational usage data.
- Officer may be required to take on ad-hoc duties as assigned by his supervisors

**What we are looking for**

Degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil/Mechanical/Environmental disciplines
Work location: Woodleigh Complex
