Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

The Trust & Safety Policy team develops and reviews our community policies to promote a positive and safe environment for all of our Users and Content Creators to enjoy and express themselves.

As the Cross-Issue Policy Leads (CIPL) for Mental Health & Regulated Content on our APAC Trust & Safety team, you will manage a team of in-region Issue Policy Managers. Your core responsibilities will be to 1) provide functional policy drafting guidance, (2) counsel reports on how to navigate TikTok's complex organization, (3) advise on generalist best practices for Trust & Safety issues, and (4) be accountable for the mentorship, growth and professional development of your direct reports.

You will also drive important cross-issue initiatives and support Issue Policy leadership on cross-functional coordinations. You will work closely with colleagues in Issue Policy, Country Policy, Operations, Policy Implementation, Product & Process, Data Science, and Product Feature. This role requires generalized knowledge of Trust & Safety Issues and comfort designing UGC policies for scale. This role will report to the Head of Mental Health & Regulated Content Policy in Singapore.

What will I be doing?
- Directly manage a team of in-region Issue Policy Managers, to provide an on-the-ground collegiate support system.
- Cultivate and maintain a psychologically safe, trusting team of Policy Managers with a mindset to maximize both positive team camaraderie and significant business impact.
- Advise on policy development, for maximum impact and scale, and guide Policy Managers to solve complex policy challenges.
- Deploy effective methods to provide functional policy advice, counsel Policy Managers on how to navigate TikTok as a business, serve as mentor for professional development of individual contributors.
- Drive cross-cutting initiatives and policies, in coordination with Global Policy Issue Leads, to ensure our Trust & Safety Issue teams take a holistic approach to harm mitigation.
- Lead cross-issue special projects that don't have a natural policy owner in your region.
- Ensure the alignment of our Global Issue Policy Framework with Feature Policy Frameworks, Country Policy Frameworks, and Monetization Integrity/Ads Policy Frameworks.
- Serve as a senior escalation resource for high-risk trust and safety issues in our APAC offices.
- Support the Hub Issue Policy Lead in cross-Policy and XFN collaboration (e.g., Incident Management, Risk Analysis, Data Science, Learning & Development).

**Qualifications**:
What should I bring with me?
- 7+ years working in Political Science, Law, International Affairs, Technology Policy, Digital Anthropology, or other fields with a focus on themes related to T&S issues.
- Experience managing people and projects with a high level of productivity and team harmony.
- Demonstrated track record for policy development and project management including complex cross-functional collaboration, and strategic execution.
- A solutions mindset to regularly assess team productivity and develop strategic roadmaps to best leverage team skillsets, topic expertise, or diverse perspectives required to bolster policy effectiveness.
- Demonstrated commitment to connectivity and team morale-building.
- A can-do and positive attitude that is channeled towards to continuous improvement.
