The role of a Designer will often include a combination of the following tasks: Conceptualizing protective packaging ideas and improvements to customers through testing, prototyping and evaluating. Plays a crucial role in both internal and external communications, that involves stakeholder such as sales, procurement, production for manufacturing, quality verification, suppliers and most importantly customers in vast business environment. Responsibilities
To provide design capabilities for protective packaging solutions (technical drawing and tooling) using 2D drafting and 3D modeling software.
To facilitate new design development or re-engineering.
To draft work processes and convert existing product/tooling drawing.
To perform drop test evaluation.
To make hand-cut samples when required.
To create and monitoring engineering documents such as NJI, ECN and FAI progression.
To source and co-ordinate with mold makers. Qualifications
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, product/industrial design or equivalent.
Preferably 1 to 2 years’ experience in tool design and fabrication with the industrial packaging knowledge. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Proficiency in design software, preferably SolidWorks. Visual software with Adobe suit will be bonus.
Computer literate in MS Office.
Able to work independently with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivated, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to learn is key with ensured close guidance provided. Other note
