Job Summary

As a member of the laboratory shift team, this role will carry out raw materials, in-process and final product analysis in the laboratory, ensuring that the analysis is carried out timely and to the required standards of quality and cost effective manner.

**Job Description**:

- Collect in-process samples in the plant
- Perform laboratory analytical work in accordance to the approved procedures and approved equipment in the laboratory and to meet the prescribed safety, occupational health, environmental and quality requirements.
- Report all results of analysis accurately and promptly in the laboratory quality database
- Maintain good communication with operations staff to ensure smooth and effective sampling and analysis.
- Participate in setup analyzers. Execute simple repair, replacement of equipment consumable parts and troubleshoot analysers. Report to supervisor immediately if any analyser abnormality is found.
- Carry out internal calibration of laboratory measuring and test equipment according to prescribed intervals as specified in the laboratory calibration program
- Ensure the calibration records are properly recorded and submitted for review
- Undertake additional routine analysis request from production form time to time
- Carry out preparation and standardization of laboratory reagents. Proper labelling of the prepared reagent according to the procedure
- Update and maintain chemicals and laboratory supplies inventory records accurately and promptly
- Ensure all laboratory measuring and test equipment are properly maintained and in good working order
- Ensure high standards of safety, hygiene and housekeeping in the laboratory and proper disposal of laboratory waste
- To be aware and be alert of the potential hazardous nature of chemicals in the area and take appropriate precautions
- To observe quality, health and safety rules and regulations at work at all times in accordance to company set standards and laboratory quality and safety rules
- Undertake any assignments assigned from time to time
