**Your day at NTT DATA**

The Director, Platform Architecture is a leadership role, responsible for leading the deployment of platforms in line with the architectural blueprints and business plans.

The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the formulation a strategy and policy that governs the integration, enhancement and general direction for technology platforms which is aligned to the organization's strategic and operational objectives

Their objective is to ensure the optimal functioning of the platforms and to achieve Managed Services Sales initiatives and targets and manages the creation of complex platforms, related automation and the corresponding business changes needed to enable sustainable platform operations aligned to client need.

This is a people management role, responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, focused on operational excellence.

**What you'll be doing**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Contributes to the formulation of a strategy and policies that govern the integration, enhancement and general direction for technology platforms which is aligned to the company's strategic and operations objectives.
- Serves as a trusted advisor on optimal platform designs and the strategy that will meet client and business requirements.
- Uses client and business requirements to advise on the design, deployment and operations of platforms.
- Oversees the management of Managed Services solution technical design aligned with organizational capabilities.
- Leads the development of complex solutions that adhere to functional and non-functional requirements (including usability, reliability, performance, supportability and security).
- Defines architecture and standards for complex platform infrastructures and drives continual improvement in processes.
- Drives identification, assessment and communication of next generation platform architecture trends and conduct research in terms of best practice platform technology and trends.
- Guides the Platform Architecture procedures and policies to align to overall organization strategy.
- Ensures and drives strong integration with all relevant Technology and business stakeholders to enable the highest quality platform architecture requirements.
- Designs the technical architecture associated with the underlying platform infrastructure and integration to back-end systems.
- Designs and develops strategies and solutions that define meta-architectural designs for complex solutions that will address issues such as styles, concepts, mechanisms, modularity, scalability and principles that combine to formulate the architectural vision for a specific environment.
- Interacts with vendors as required to obtain full knowledge of vendor roadmaps, new developments and new product offerings.
- Takes responsibility for the operational management of a platform architecture team.

- Significant project management principles and ability to ensure projects are executed accordingly.

- Significant knowledge of platform design best practice.
- Significant ability to lead technical design workshops with the client and business stakeholders.
- Significant ability to design, manage and close a technical proof of concept on a vendor product.
- Significant expertise and sound knowledge of platform design best practice, including operation of platforms.

**Academic Qualifications and Certifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field.
- Certification and working knowledge of Cloud Architect Azure, AWS, CGP is preferred.
- Certification and working knowledge in Microservices (Principle, Patterns both greenfield and brownfield), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Access Integration (EAI) and Integration Patterns preferred.
- Certification and working knowledge with Cloud, Data Centre, Applications platform integrations, RESTful APIs, including JSON, XML and SOAP protocols is preferred.
- Certification and working knowledge with Software Development Lifecycle and tools, SAFe/Scrum/Agile methodology is preferred.

**Required Experience**:

- Significant track record in the area of business analysis and platform architecture.
- Significant experience with Service/Application/Infrastructure and Cloud Architectures, Microservice (Principle, Patterns both greenfield and brownfield), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Enterprise Access Integration (EAI) and Integration Patterns.
