The mission of the Youth Preventive Service (YPS) of the Health Promotion Board (HPB) is to promote good health and reduce illness among schoolchildren. There are also upscale efforts to reduce obesity prevalence among Singapore students. Youth Preventive Health Service Division (YPHS) is one of the 3 divisions under YPS. The services provided by the YPHS include health screening and immunisation for the children and youth in Singapore. YPHS has 4 departments namely School Health Service, Student Health Centre, Student Wellness Service and Nursing Service.
You will be a part of HPB’s Student Wellness Service Department, to administer school-based and clinic-based weight management programmes for overweight and severely overweight students, severely underweight students as well as for normal weight students with borderline BMI measurement.

**What You Can Expect**

As part of the Student Wellness Service Department, you will plan, implement, monitor and evaluate medical assessment for overweight and severely overweight students and provide counselling services to reduce chronic conditions of the students screened. You will also promote healthy eating and physical activity among the severely underweight children and youth. You will collaborate with their families to ensure that they have a healthy body and a healthy weight to give them a good start in life, which in turn, contributes to the future wellbeing of our nation.

As part of the role, you will also conduct training programmes and other health resources to build capacity of teachers, healthcare professionals, tertiary students, trainers and the public with essential knowledge, expertise and skills to carry out nutrition education programmes in schools and in the communities.

Join us if you are a dynamic and self-motivated individual with relevant diploma with relevant working experiences or degree such as Health Sciences, Health Promotion, Public Health and related science fields in Psychology, Nutrition, Sport Science and Health Communications, with:

- Good communication and presentation skills
- Firm and decisive
- A keen interest in working with children/youths
