**Overview**
The Strategic Development (SD) team invests in global disruptive deep-tech ventures and business platforms. The SD team leverages its deep understanding of science and technology, global reach, technology investment acumen, extended time horizon, collaborative DNA and new business development capabilities to seek, curate and build innovative and potential disruptive technology investment opportunities.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Perform market and technology research to identify global investment opportunities in deep-tech (physical sciences) which includes areas such as net-zero/climate tech, future of compute, disruptive materials and other emerging deep-tech areas e.g. spacetech
- Perform techno-economics analysis, financial analysis, technology & competitive benchmarking, and due diligence on target companies
- Build investment theses, financial models and prepare investment memorandums
- Execute investment transactions including legal diligence and investment documents
- Regular monitoring of portfolio companies technical, product and commercial performance
- Manage functional processes for investment, pipeline management, portfolio oversight, investee performance reporting and reviews

**Qualifications/Capabilities**
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in the science or engineering disciplines. PhD and/or MBA would be viewed favourably
- An MBA and/or familiarity/experience with foundational business concepts including commercialization/go-to market, R&D & product development, sales/marketing, operations, manufacturing/supply chain, strategy, management/HR & org development etc
- 5 years working experience in R&D, product development/engineering, technology strategy
- Experience in investment and/or market research experience VCs/CVCs, consulting, private equity or global financial institutions. Financial modelling skills would be advantageous
- Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently
- Able to work well cross-functionally, as part of different teams and with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and powerpoint skills
