**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Simulator Design (Support)**:

- Assist in the design and development of simulators for AI chips using tools like GEM5, learning best practices for accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to refining simulation models to validate basic chip functionality and understand resource utilization under different AI workloads, with guidance.
- **Performance Optimization (Learning & Support)**:

- Architecture Level: Assist in the design and refinement of AI chip architecture components, focusing on understanding the impact of layout and processing element interaction on performance and power.
- Circuit Level: Learn about low-level electrical performance considerations and how they impact chip operation at the physical level.
- **Front-End Code Development (Support & Implementation)**:

- Write, test, and optimize front-end code modules to support AI chip functionality, following established guidelines and under mentorship.
- Collaborate with software teams to understand the integration of AI hardware and software.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and verification teams, to understand how AI hardware meets specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and reports on design activities and learnings.

**Qualifications**:

- **Educational Background**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- **Technical Knowledge**:

- Basic understanding of computer architecture and AI hardware accelerators (e.g., GPUs and TPUs).
- Familiarity with memory access concepts in AI models.
- Exposure to hardware simulators and performance profiling concepts is a plus.
- Basic understanding of hardware description languages (HDL) like Verilog or VHDL is a plus.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Developing problem-solving abilities with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
- Good collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for basic communication and documentation.
