**WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?**:
The Quality Inspector uses state-of-the-art tools and techniques to ensure that product conforms to applicable manufacturer's specifications and our customers' requirements. This position focuses on objective and instrumented tests that generate data for evaluation.

**_ Core Responsibilities and Functions:_**
- Perform quality inspection on electronic components and related products
- Use advanced equipment and inspection methodology to confirm whether product meets customer requirements
- Record inspection results and evidence in Velocity's ERP
- Take and prepare photo documentation
- Coordinate with the Quality Managers to ensure that all requested tests are performed
- Communicate and explain inspection findings to the Quality Managers and, occasionally, the Sales, Purchasing and Logistics.

**_Required skills & experience:_**
- Understanding of basic math, including percentages and tolerances
- Familiar with complex ERP systems

**_Preferred skills & experience:_**
- 2 or 4-year college degree
- Experience handling electronic components and/or inspection/quality assurance
- Familiar with complex ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Basic photography and photo editing

**_Work Environment_**

This position works in Velocity's Inspection and Distribution Center, a hybrid laboratory/warehouse environment. Most work is performed in an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).
- Personnel must wear protective smocks and grounding footwear inside the EPA
- Traffic through the IDC includes electric lift trucks
- Some inspections include:

- X-ray equipment
- Hot surfaces
- Solvents
- Some products contain small amounts of toxic materials (e.g. lead-based solder)

**_Physical Requirements_**
- Close vision
- Color discrimination
- Manual dexterity: manipulation of very small items
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
