As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

The project is an oral language proficiency evaluation on primary students. Specifically, the platform comprises of an AI chatbot that can carry out audio / spoken conversations with a student.

Multiple positions are available as we are currently in the process of building up this team. We will be hiring positions ranging from senior research engineers to engineers with less experience.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code that meets industry standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test plans.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
- Develop and maintain automated testing suites to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Troubleshoot and debug software issues, and work with other developers to resolve complex technical problems.

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in a computing-related domain, e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Dart, Python, Node, React, or JavaScript.
- Experience in cross-platform web/app development frameworks is a plus (e.g., React Native or Flutter).
- Experience in backend frameworks is a plus (e.g., node JS or djano).
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Proficient with databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of CV is an advantage.
