**Your work environment**
Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in the markets we operate, with specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.
**Your Role**
This role mainly supports the Financial Markets (FM) business in APAC region and assist the Head of Financial Markets & Strategic Products APAC to drive strategic planning and execution against our strategy.
**Key responsibilities**:
Provide management support in multiple areas to the APAC Head of Financial Markets including:
- Strategy development and implementation
- Driving new strategic business initiatives
- New product implementation and entry into new markets
- Planning and budgeting
- Managing key stakeholders (Risk, Operations, IT, Finance, Tax, Legal, Compliance)
- Representing APAC’s interest in global initiatives/projects
- Maintaining a robust Internal Control Framework
- Cost Management
- Staff Business Conduct Practices
- Secure and Hybrid Working environment
Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the business control environment:
- Ensure that all business and control issues are identified and addressed
- Ensure that business activities are conducted in a controlled and disciplined manner
- Co-ordinates and control all business issues between the business and support functions
- Co-ordinates and control all regulatory issues and changes by working closely with Compliance, Legal and the relevant regulators
Ensure that all FM staff have a good understanding of our Compliance Objectives by working closely with Compliance and Legal to provide adequate training programs to ensure everyone is familiar with and adhere to our internal policies and code of conduct:
- all regulatory requirements and rules pertaining to the markets in which we operate
- all the relevant ING policies and business conduct rules
- are familiar and aware of key policies relating to job role & responsibilities
- are aware of reporting requirements and escalation procedures when any possible compliance violations arise (e.g. market abuse or inappropriate conduct)
Ensure that there is adequate support and expertise from relevant support functions so that the business can function efficiently, including:
- Implementation of the relevant operational processes and internal controls within established ING principles and policies
- Implementation of the relevant processes and internal controls to ensure that the business operates within local governing rules and regulations
Represent FM in various committees - local, regional, global:
- Ensure that FM’s business interests and strategies are accurately and adequately represented
- Ensure efficient management of FM APAC’s project priorities and system initiatives
Responsible for management of the team across APAC:
- Ensure there is sufficient structure, a clear division of tasks and allocation of responsibilities, as well as sound information transfer about all FM products
- Ensure the team is adequately staffed in terms of both quality and quantity
- Lead a high performing team through regular evaluation and continuous development of team members
- Coach and mentor the team to ensure full compliance with all internal policies and external regulations to meet our Compliance Objectives
- University degree, preferably in business, banking, economics
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in Global Markets, preferably in a similar type role
- Deep product knowledge of financial markets instruments with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Well-versed in compliance, credit, market and operational risk principles and general control framework
- An effective communicator with the ability to interact and work independently with local, regional and global stakeholders
- A team player with excellent leadership, interpersonal and people management skills
- Strong business mindset, self-motivated, professional and willing to take on challenging initiatives in a demanding environment
