**About this role**

**What will I do?**
- Undertake, manage, and deliver the protective design of a range of buildings for a variety of projects through all stages of design from concept through detailed design to construction, and within established quality, budget and project expectations
- Perform design checks and/or analysis (local/global response) to blast engineering standards such as UFC 3-340-01, UFC 3-340-02, UFC 4-023-03, ASCE 59-11, and in accordance with relevant local building codes and regulations
- Perform hostile vehicle mitigation systems design and coordinate design related issues with other discipline
- Engage with clients and/or their representatives to understand their requirements in relation to security risk management and tailor the delivery of the protective design consultancy service to their individual needs and advise best outcomes.
- Collaborate with Resilience, Security & Risk leader, other members of the team, and/or other Arup teams across the region to develop coherent, risk-based security strategies integrating electronic, physical and active security with protective design and/or blast measures to ensure successful delivery of projects/ assignments

**What will I bring?**
- Preferably degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent and with recognised as Competent Person (Blast) under infrastructure Protection Action with at least 2 years of experience in protective design/blast engineering (or alternatively relevant research/industry experience)
- Well organized and methodical, able to balance and takes responsibility of tasks and deliver appropriate solutions to clients
- Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines
- Experience in the use of structural analysis software package (eg, GSA, SAP2000, STAAD, Strand7, LS-DYNA)
- Ability to think strategically and formulate innovative plans and solutions
