The Tour and Industry Development (TID) department champions the travel agent and tour operator industry to ensure the progressive development of the industry where we develop agile and resilient travel agents and tour operators that can serve customers of tomorrow and compete on a global stage.

The industry development work for travel agents is guided by the Travel Agent (TA) Roadmap and focuses on the 3 strategic pillars of manpower, technology and business transformation.

TID is also the sector lead driving the development of a vibrant tour landscape in Singapore with the objective to enhance destination attractiveness and drive visitor spend, and this work is anchored by the various initiatives under the Tour Experience Innovation Lab (TEIL).

**Main Responsibilities**

As Manager/Senior Manager, you will support TID’s work on the Travel Agent Roadmap. Specifically, you will focus on the inbound agents/destination management companies (DMCs) sector, where you will work closely with these stakeholders to drive their productivity and capability development. You will also work with them and STB regional offices to refresh their Singapore's tour offerings that are of high quality and will appeal to the different travel archetypes of of our key source markets.

In your role, you will be required to build sector knowledge and become well-versed in the inbound travel agent business model, the travel ecosystem, as well as understand their challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth. You will take on an account management role for key travel agent accounts to assist in the development and evolution of these travel agents to navigate the increasingly challenging landscape, so that they will continue to create good jobs and contribute to tourism and economy in a meaningful way. This includes providing targeted support and administering the Business Improvement Fund (BIF) grant to accounts under you as well as oversee how the capabilities of key Meetings & Incentive (M&I) players can be strengthened to deliver enhanced offerings.

**Job Requirements**

At least 6 years of working experience, preferably with previous exposure to business and strategy consulting, innovation, and/or travel & tour industry.
- Tourism industry acumen
- Enjoy challenges and problem solving
- Good knowledge of travel agent ecosystem
- Some understanding of various technology solutions that can be adopted by travel agents, e.g. travel management systems.
- Strong team player but with the independence to drive own project/work
- Self-starter
- Strong presentation and communication skills - written and spoken
- Ability to work with data, including using excel to process data
- Inquisitive with analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Good appreciation for policy works, including policy development, implementation and process improvement
- Ability to adapt to changes and evolving circumstances
- Ability to interpret financial statements
