**Job Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
**1. Freight Forwarder Management**:
- Coordinate with freight forwarders for inbound, import, and export operations.
- Negotiate shipping schedules and freight rates to ensure cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation for smooth international shipments.
- Monitor performance metrics of freight forwarders and implement improvements as needed.
**2. Demand and Supply Planning**:
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast product demand accurately.
- Plan and execute supply strategies to ensure sufficient stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Analyse historical data, market trends, and customer behavior to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and overstocking.
- Proactively address potential supply chain disruptions and implement contingency plans.
**3. Inventory Management**:
- Supervise stock-keeping operations and maintain the health of the inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure correct quantities are reflected in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Implement inventory control measures to prevent shrinkage, spoilage, and obsolescence.
- Optimize inventory turnover and carrying costs to maximize working capital efficiency.
**4. Inbound Operations Supervision**:
- Oversee inbound operations and ensure that Purchase Orders (POs) align with agreed schedule quantities.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Address any discrepancies in orders, deliveries, or quality issues promptly.
**5. Coordination with 3PL Partners**:
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) partners for warehousing, fulfillment, and reverse logistics.
- Ensure that 3PL partners adhere to service level agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Continuously evaluate the performance of 3PL partners and foster strong working relationships.
**6. Reporting**:
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key supply chain metrics and performance indicators.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve logistics efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Communicate supply chain status and potential risks to management and relevant stakeholders.
**7. Documentation and Process Improvement**:
- Maintain documentation of logistics workflows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process and technology improvements within the supply chain.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimise logistics, storage, transportation, forecasting, and cost management.
**8. Leadership Guidance**:
- Lead and manage the logistics team, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting open communication and constructive problem-solving.
- Collaborate with other department heads to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in supply chain management are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in logistics and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, import/export regulations, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
