TUMCREATE is a multidisciplinary research platform of the Technical University Munich (TUM) at the Singapore Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE). We are joining forces with universities, public agencies, and industry for the advancement of future technologies.

A new project “Singapore’s Pathway to Carbon Neutrality: Analysis of New Technologies” has been launched. The aim of this project is to analyse options for alternative energy supply for Singapore such as import of electricity from neighbouring countries or long-distance high-voltage direct-current connections, or alternative fuels such as hydrogen or synthetic fuels.

**Job Title**:
Research Engineer (Energy Supply Model Development)

**Objective of the Position**:
We are looking for a Research Engineer to build a first energy system model of the ASEAN energy system. This is a full-time 12-month contract.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review of previous work on analysis of the energy system of and renewable potentials in

ASEAN
- Review of energy supply models developed at TUMCREATE
- Development of a new energy system model of ASEAN
- Engagement in development of other models in the project
- Presentation of the results in at least one international scientific journal

**Job Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in Power or Electrical Engineering or a related field with at least 1 year of experience
- Knowledge of energy and power system modelling
- Knowledge of energy and power systems, energy markets, energy conversion technology
- Programming knowledge (preferably Python and MATLAB)
- Knowledge of the tools URBS and TIMES is a plus.
- Ability to interact with other researchers and define a working structure
- Good English writing and communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills for working in an international research team with people of different backgrounds
