**About the role**:

- $120k USD base pay. No bonuses or commissions.
- $75k USD equity award vesting over 5 years.
- The Director of Operations (“DOO”) is the executive arm of the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”; currently filled by CEO and CFO-to-be-hired in six months' time), tasked with supporting the CFO in running the day-to-day back-office operations of the company, particularly regarding Finance, Accounting, Admin, Talent Acquisition and Management, Legal, and Compliance. The Blackpanda DOO is considered the executor of the CFO’s vision and design of the back-office foundational elements of the company, and helps the CFO ensure the “trains” of the company are always “running on time”. Key to the success of the DOO will be the ability to coordinate administrative and support functions to empower the other four main verticals of Blackpanda, which are Revenue, Services, Technology, and Insurance.
- The DOO must possess exceptional attention-to-detail, operational project management and execution, and communication skills to empower and support all other Blackpanda C-Levels and the activities of their respective verticals to achieve Blackpanda’s vision. The DOO will have a thorough understanding and appreciation of every function within Blackpanda, and how they strategically, operationally, and tactically work together to deliver its products and services effectively and efficiently.
- In addition to the close alignment to executing the CFO’s directives, the DOO will have a direct responsibility to coordinate the execution of Finance, Accounting, Admin, Talent Acquisition and Management, Legal, and Compliance functions which have qualified specialists covering each function with a current team of five, including a VP Finance (dotted line relationship), Legal Counsel, Finance & Accounting Manager, Accountant, and Talent Manager. The visibility of the DOO role will require a rising executive that can lead, inspire and motivate all Panda employees as he or she will be running and leading the company and select working group meetings driven by the CEO’s directives as well.
- Blackpanda is seeking an executive with 10+ years of experience and demonstrable experience in building, managing, and growing a business within the exciting, but volatile, venture-backed tech start-up environment. The DOO will initially have the Accounting Team and the Talent Manager reporting to him or her directly, whereas the rest of the more senior team, like the VP Finance and Legal Counsel, will directly report to the CFO administratively. However, the DOO will be responsible for ensuring and coordinating the execution of the CFO’s team.
- For pre-agreed periods with the CFO, the DOO can Work-From-Anywhere for pre-agreed periods so long as they have a blazingly fast internet connection, adequate work-from-home set-up, and are willing to work for six hours a day crossing over with the company between 9am to 6pm Singapore or Hong Kong time along with other reasonable stipulations based on the company’s urgent needs. The DOO will be based out of Singapore to work closely with the CFO as this position requires very close coordination and alignment by way of strategic implementation and execution of the CFO’s vision for the company and his vertical.

**Responsibilities**:

- Advise and execute CFO’s vision on the cashflow management, operations, and all back-office administrative functions - Finance, Accounting, Admin (includes Office Management), Talent Acquisition and Management, Legal, and Compliance, etc. - particularly with a lens of tech start-up operational management and leadership experience.
- Prepare monthly accurate financial, management, and operational performance reports to the CFO and quarterly for the Board.
- Report weekly to the CFO with the Finance & Accounting Manager on the runway, operational expenses, and other pertinent financial matters.
- Develop, implement, and deliver on the operational and financial plans, and procedures in conjunction with the CFO to impeccably execute Blackpanda’s short-term strategic objectives with a sense of purpose and urgency.
- Oversee the selection, outfitting, and maintenance of all company office locations in the region, including policies, rules, and regulations.
