SAP Labs Singapore is the 20th engineering hub in the SAP Labs Network and is the newest innovation hub at SAP that drives product leadership, fosters the best talent, and aims to boost ecosystem and community engagement with a variety of initiatives.

SAP Labs Singapore has the ambition to expand significantly and become the Embedded Artificial Hub for SAP, leveraging on core competencies in the current teams. It provides an open, modern working environment and the opportunity to become part of the global SAP engineering community.

**What you'll build**
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines for machine learning workflows focused on document processing.
- Manage large-scale structured and unstructured data assets, ensuring quality and readiness for training.
- Develop tools for data annotation and synthetic data generation to support model development.
- Design and implement training, validation, and deployment pipelines
- Monitor and improve model performance through continuous evaluation and retraining.
- Automate ML and data workflows for efficiency and reliability in cloud environments.
- Translate business requirements into effective ML solutions with measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align data and model strategies.
- Ensure integration quality and operational readiness across global SAP environments.
- Quickly learn domain-specific document types and adapt to evolving AI technologies.
- Coordinate technical tasks and ensure transparent communication on progress

**What you bring**:
**Required**
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and software architecture.
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, pipelines, and data lifecycle management.
- Practical experience with ML or data processing frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Spark).
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages, preferably Python and Java.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving mindset and motivation to deliver customer value.
- Experience leading technical teams and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

**Optional**
- Ph.D. degree in computer science or related technical field
- Hands-on scripting experience (e.g., bash).
- Skills in modern web development (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS)
- Operational familiarity with Linux systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

As part of the SAP Labs Singapore, the Artificial Intelligence team has experienced professionals taking on challenges posed by the SAP customers. Based in Singapore, you will have the opportunity to work on the SAP Document AI service, an intelligent document processing solution serving thousands of customers worldwide. You will address real-world challenges in ML engineering in data management and data synthesis, training automation, model deployment and monitoring. As part of the global product engineering team, you will participate in rich and engaging conversations with experts around the globe.
