We have partnered a long-term private equity real estate investment company that seeds, builds and grow real estate businesses across Asia. They are looking to add a Risk & Compliance manager based in their Singapore office.

**Job Description**:
The Risk & Compliance Manager, based in Singapore, is responsible for the design, build, and enhancement of the governance framework based on business requirements and oversee the enhancement, implementation, reporting, and support the groups different business units - finance, operations, human resources, investment, portfolio management and IT. Reporting to the Operations Director, based in Singapore, the incumbent will lead the initiatives in driving the implementation of risk and compliance requirements that are aligned with the firm’s

governance framework.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and work with the Operations Director in driving implementation of policies, standards and guidelines on a company-wide basis, in support of the firm’s risk and compliance roadmap.
- Provide advisory to various businesses within the company and ensure they adopt adequate measures to manage/mitigate compliance risks.
- Provide advisory on regulatory requirements to relevant business units for business-as-usual matters, and general compliance matters to both the firm and investment platform entities.
- Responsible for reviewing compliance activity reporting for the company and support reporting of compliance activities on a consolidated basis to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor significant regulatory developments in respective countries, work with the Operations, Portfolio Management, Investments and Finance counterparts across the firm to ensure overall compliance risks of the company are adequately managed.
- Coordinating and conducting internal reviews and working with internal audit to formulate a review framework for the firm’s investment platform entities.
- Be responsible for reviewing and establishing a monitoring framework to ensure best in class and determining firm’s licensing, AML, KYC requirements.
- Work with legal advisors in establishing a best-in-class workflow, governance framework and monitoring of investment platform entities.
- Developing and reviewing risk management strategies across the firm and its investment platforms, with an in-depth knowledge of Private Equity and Real Estate businesses.
- Leading key business initiatives relating to governance and compliance across the region for the firm, with knowledge of relevant Asian markets.
- Evaluating new projects and ensuring that any new business implementations comply with the firm’s compliance framework.
- Following up on compliance issues that require investigation and reporting compliance matters where required for the firm.

Experience and qualifications
- 10+ years legal, compliance or internal audit experience at an asset manager or other financial institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business finance, economics, or other related disciplines.
- Team player and able to work independently with mínimal direct supervision, and to excel under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated team management and stakeholder management experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels.
- Excellent written and spoken English and knowledge of other Asian language is highly regarded.
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow, thrives in an environment with multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
