Singapore National Cancer Centre Singapore Full time

The Research Officer will be part of the Cancer Therapy Research Laboratory, headed by NCCS Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist and Duke-NUS Associate Professor, Dr Daniel Tan, looking into developing novel cancer therapeutics and understanding drug resistance in lung cancer. He/She will have the opportunity to work in a large collaborative group, be involved in exciting and highly translational research projects that impact patients as well as industry-related projects.
- Your key responsibilities will include the following (training provided):
- Assist in hands-on experiments in Biosafety Lab dealing with cell culture originating from cancer cell lines; includes tasks like passaging, centrifuging, splitting cell cultures; media and reagent preparations.
- Support scientists in hands-on experiments such as PBMC extraction, cell viability assays, IC50 assays, ELispot assay and various functional assays.
- Comfortable working with human tissue/fluid and blood biospecimens.
- Perform maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables.
- As needed, coordinates with research staff and supports other assistants to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
- Assists with collecting, tracking, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing research data.

**Job Requirements**
- Diploma or Degree in Life Sciences
- Minimum 1-year prior laboratory/research experience in biomedical sciences.
- Hands-on laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience with basic mammalian cell culture, immunohistochemistry, Westernblots and molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with flow cytometry, Elispot, ELISA and other immune-monitoring techniques will be highly valued.
- An organized individual with good interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Able to clearly and effectively present information one-on-one and in groups.
- Strong interest and motivation in biomedical research.
