Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a** Senior Credit Controller.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Participate in discussion on credit proposal for New to Bank (NTB) client or existing client for assessment of operational and credit risk
- Manage drawdown under selected GTRF clients on end to end basis, including review of compliance to credit term, liaison with deal team and back office, deviation management & reporting and post transaction monitoring etc
- Identify risks at structural and/or transactional level and recommend on risk mitigants as well as proposing monitoring mechanism to manage such risks at both levels
- Record and manage exposures and collaterals in line with requirement listed out by TRM Global Operating Procedure (GOP). Examples of such activities are:

- Carrying out Mark to Market (MTM) when applicable
- Conducting post transaction sample check (remittance, invoice validation etc) or Quality Assurance (QA) (price check etc)
- Sending dunning letter and following up overdue invoices with client/buyer
- Debt verification and balance confirmation
- Reviewing invoice and supporting documents
- Monthly reconciliation between client’s book and bank’s record
- Declaration and filing of non-payment with insurance underwriter
- Coordinating limit loading and dropping etc.
- Ensure the allocated portfolio is managed in accordance with Function Instruction Manuel (FIM) for respective products and processes
- Review and improve process while on the job through collecting and sharing feedback from/with internal stakeholders. Support Head of Monitoring Team in helping manage risk on proactive basis by highlighting risk control issues
- Carry out data collection, extraction and analysis activity from various data sources/tools to produce MIS report/dashboard to local, regional and global stakeholders
- Establish and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the bank

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- In-depth knowledge of credit/operational risks and mitigants with fair level of understanding of clients and counterparties including market best practices and processes
- Fair understanding of trade finance products, eg DC/SBLC, loans, confirmation & discounting and structured product (Receivable Finance, Asset Based Lending, supply chain finance etc) including the risk associated with these products
- Familiarity with specialized products (eg Warehouse Finance, Pre-export finance etc) for commodity clients and basic understanding of commodity sector and risks (eg price risk) is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently as well as work collaboratively with other team member and teams
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. Familiar with excel formula, pivot table, charts etc. Knowing macro and Access is preferred
- University degree related to Financial Services or equivalent experience in related field is required
