DESIGNATION : Technical Lead (AS400) RESPONSIBILITIES - Liaise and communicate effectively with enterprise clients to understand their business objectives, technical environments, and automation or disaster recovery (DR) needs. - Serve as the primary technical point of contact for AS400-related automation and scripting initiatives, ensuring client expectations are clearly understood and met. - Lead and mentor a technical team in designing and implementing automation strategies across AS400 and Linux platforms. - Develop, optimize, and maintain CL (Control Language) scripts and AS400 automation routines for job scheduling, backups, DR testing, and system monitoring. - Design and implement cross-platform automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting, integrating AS400 with Linux-based infrastructure. - Build and maintain automation frameworks to manage DR replication, recovery testing, system provisioning, and real-time monitoring. - Oversee the installation, configuration, and optimization of automation toolchains across AS400 and Linux environments. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex system automation, scripting, and recovery-related issues across both legacy and modern platforms. - Prepare and deliver clear technical documentation, client-facing reports, and user training or knowledge transfer sessions. - Stay informed of emerging technologies in automation, DR, and infrastructure modernization to recommend innovative solutions to clients. QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. - At least 5 years of experience in technical leadership involving AS400 systems, automation, and client interaction. - Strong expertise in AS400 scripting, particularly CL (Control Language), and automation of operational and disaster recovery (DR) tasks. - Proficient in Shell scripting; Python and Ansible are a plus but not mandatory. - Good understanding of AS400 system architecture, including job control, journaling, save/restore mechanisms, and HA/DR setups. - Experience with Linux server administration and cross-platform automation. - Familiarity with CI/CD, job scheduling, and version control tools such as Git. - Excellent communication skills to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience in regulated industries (e.g., banking or finance) is a strong advantage. - Relevant certifications in IBM i, DevOps, or automation tools are preferred. - Beyondsoft is committed to being an equal opportunity employer and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
