**School Health Advisors (SHAs)**

We are looking for people who believe in a healthy and active lifestyle to be part of a team to encourage young people to adopt healthy living.

**Basic requirement for SHAs**:

- Minimum Diploma in Nutrition, Sports Science, Coaching / Counselling, Psychology, Health Sciences or any other health-related fields.
- Have a passion in promoting health programmes to the youth.
- Have good communication, negotiation, engagement and time management skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programmes (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience in health promotion and/ or school outreach is an advantage.

**Roles and Responsibilities of SHAs**:
**1. Establish, implement and maintain a targeted preventive health programme for the youths in schools and IHLs.**
- Initiate communication channels with school staff, students and parents to gather information on health-related issues focusing on smoking and obesity of the student population.
- Identify students at risk and formulate plan for evidence-informed outreach and intervention.
- Communicate with school leaders on a regular basis to provide updates, challenges with solutions and successes.
- Be a role model for students e.g. participate in relevant events / exercise together with students as part of rapport building when opportunity arises.

**2. Monitor, Audit and Evaluate Effectiveness of Health Interventions and Programmes**
- Ensure accurate and proper documentation in case-notes and IT system and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Plan caseloads to ensure timely completion of health interventions
- Establish follow-up strategies to increase participation / attendance rates
- Ensure prompt submission of monthly reporting of workload e.g. number and /or percentage of students reached, counselled and outcome of coaching / counselling, health talks, tracking and outcome of referrals, etc.
- Monitor effectiveness and service feedback via achievement of performance indicators and students’/school staff/parents’ satisfaction level
- Participate in audits on HPB’s other programme vendors, when necessary.

**3. Participate in Schools Events, Professional Development and Projects**
- Build rapport with school staff and participate in healthy lifestyle events in schools, institutions and the community
- Attend training, sharing sessions and meetings to keep abreast of latest development in health-related fields
- Contribute suggestions and participate in quality improvement initiatives
