**What the role is**
- The intern will assist the Data and Digital Division in projects requiring data collection, manipulation and analysis using Python programming language. Alongside these, the intern may have the opportunity to assist in cases, projects or market studies which CCCS is conducting.

**What you will be working on**
- Identify relevant data sources and perform data collection which may include web scraping and the usage of Application Programming Interfaces. - Process data, which includes cleaning and organising datasets for storage into relational database(s). - data visualisation techniques to summarise and present findings effectively. - machine learning techniques on structured data to derive insights. - Develop Python programming scripts to derive meaningful insights from structured data. - Document code, processes, methodologies, and findings as part of knowledge management within the team. - Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data science to contribute fresh perspectives. - Where necessary and appropriate, the intern might assist in cases that CCCS is assessing or projects and market studies that CCCS is conducting.

**What we are looking for**
- Currently enrolled in a relevant polytechnic or tertiary program related to data science, computer science, or a related field. Penultimate year students preferred. - Proficiency in Python programming for data collection, manipulation and analysis. o Familiarity with web scraping techniques and tools. o Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structuring and database management concepts. o Interest in data analysis, visualization, and deriving insights from large datasets. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment while retaining the ability to work independently when needed. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced/team setting environment.

Additionally, CCCS ensures that businesses observe fair trade measurement practices by administering the Weights and Measures Act 1975, and ensures the supply of safe consumer goods by enforcing and implementing the Consumer Protection (Trade Descriptions and Safety Requirements) Act 1975 and its associated Regulations.
