Construction Manager

A Construction Manager oversees and coordinates construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. Their job scope includes the following key responsibilities:
**1. Project Planning & Coordination**
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.

**2. Budget & Cost Management**
- Prepare cost estimates and manage project expenses.
- Monitor expenditures to prevent cost overruns.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

**3. Site Management & Supervision**
- Oversee daily construction activities.
- Ensure work progresses according to the project timeline.
- Address on-site challenges and resolve any construction-related issues.

**4. Safety & Compliance**
- Enforce health and safety regulations on-site.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and legal requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions.

**5. Quality Control**
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee testing of materials and structures.

**6. Team & Stakeholder Communication**
- Lead and manage site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Communicate project updates with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Hold regular meetings to review progress and address concerns.

**7. Risk Management & Problem-Solving**
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve unexpected challenges that arise during construction.

**8. Project Handover & Documentation**
- Ensure all work is completed according to contract specifications.
- Prepare final project reports and documentation.
- Conduct a final inspection and hand over the project to the client.

**Job Requirements**

**1. Education & Qualifications**

Degree or Diploma in:

- Civil Engineering
- Construction Management
- Architecture
- Structural Engineering
- Or a related field

Certifications (preferred):

- OSHA Certification (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
- First Aid and Safety Training

**2. Work Experience in retails, commercial, hospitality and construction field**

Minimum 5 years of experience in:

- Construction site supervision
- Project management
- Cost estimation and budgeting
- Scheduling and planning

**3. Technical Skills**

Strong knowledge of:

- Construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Building codes and safety standards
- Project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)
- AutoCAD
- Contract management and procurement

**4. Key Soft Skills**
- Leadership & Team Management - Ability to lead workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Communication & Negotiation - Clear communication with clients, engineers, and government authorities.
- Problem-Solving - Quick decision-making and issue resolution.
- Time Management - Meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks.

**5. Additional Requirements**
- Willingness to work on-site and travel if required.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of sustainable and green building practices (preferred).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $4,500.00 - $6,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week
