We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Head of Business Finance - SG & S&SEA CMB**.

**Role Purpose**

The CMB business in ASP has shifted from 1 ASP CMB as a region to 4 ASP CMB sub-regions (HK & Macau, S&SEA, China, and HASE) with co-CEOs representing ASP CMB, in Dec 2021 given the complexities and the size of ASP CMB, which account for nearly half of global CMB.

Amongst the 4 sub-regions, with its new business strategy, S&SEA has been witnessing double digit growth YTD May ’22 and the current S&SEA CMB head, GGM, serves as the co-head of CMB finance ASP.

The proposed position is a key business and finance leadership role that is focused on business partnering, strategic advice and supporting and driving business performance. This role is a critical member of the S&SEA CMB Executive committee, providing finance stewardship, controllership governance and oversight as well as driving business performance and contributing to the formation of business strategy. S&SEA, spanning across 13 markets is expected to see ’22 PBT at $934m (Rev $1.9bn) making it the one of the most profitable CMB regions globally and represents ~14% of Global HSBC CMB pre-tax profit. In 2021, S&SEA was more profitable than MENA and US combined.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

- Lead and build a high performance business finance function that can support the business efficiently and effectively
- Drive business performance and support S&SEA CMB EXCO team to make sound business decision making by providing insightful business performance analytics, highlighting risks and opportunities, and providing strong commercial finance support (e.g. pricing, competitive analysis, client and product profitability, portfolio management)
- Ensure effective allocation of resources (including balance sheet growth, strategic investment decisions and budget allocation) to optimize returns for the firm and shareholders;
**Principal Accountabilities**

**Impact on the Business/Function**
- Assist in any external reporting requirements, Interim Management Statements and any investor relations presentations including CMB content
- Implement internal management reporting, overall MI and ad hoc papers for S&SEA CMB head. Also support CMB financial reporting for CMB EXCO, RMM etc as required
- Play a strategic role in evaluating financial success of core strategies and key investments.
- Oversee regulatory capital usage including understanding the potential impact of any regulatory and business model changes
- Ensure proactive management of controllable cost base.
- Complete the implementation of financial & non-financial tools and reports that identify key business drivers and associated KPIs that guide management decision making and contribute to strategy formulation. Continually seek better ways to convert financial/non-financial data into intelligence that feeds improved business performance.
- As an integrated part of the business team, working with Group strategy develop valuation models to determine the income statement and balance sheet impact of proposed acquisition and disposals.
- Lead annual financial planning process and estimate update including preparation of summary analytics and presentations
- Lead annual stress testing process
- Development and analysis of product/segment P&Ls as appropriate
- Providing insight as to business performance and competitiveness versus competition
- Lead Finance Service Proposition in SG & SEA. Continue to drive elimination of non-standard MI, making sure MI remains relevant to the business
- Lead business case preparation ensuring sound financial analysis and strategic alignment
