**What you can expect**

The Asia Pacific Head of Risk and Control for Global Market Operations (GMO), works within a global team and in close partnership with local LOB teams as well as second and third line of defense partners. The role is highly visible and require frequent interaction with senior management and with key stakeholders, often as delegate for the APAC Regional Head of Global Market Operations. The role will be responsible for managing the APAC Risk and Control Group (‘APAC OR&C’) located in Singapore reporting globally to the Head of Global Market Operations Risk & Control and regionally to the APAC Head of Global Market Operations. The individual will be a also be a member of the APAC GMO management team and the Global GMO Risk & Control management team.

The Global Market Operations Risk & Control Function is aligned to provide a centralized risk model, driving consistency through end-to-end horizontal risk management and oversight functions, as well as vertical risk functions. The vertical risk function provides dedicated risk expertise to support the lines of business and regions. The horizontal risk function provides a centralized view of GMO Risk, support ad hoc initiatives and centralized resiliency planning, together with the oversight and support of regulatory requirements and corporate audits impacting GMO.

**What you will do**
- Serve as a primary contact for day-to-day risk support for all areas within APAC, including Equities, Fixed Income, Collateral, FX and derivatives and Asset Services providing guidance for all risk issues that arise.
- Identify themes and carry out ad hoc assessments and deep dive reviews on emerging risk to identify risk and agree and oversee associated remediation plans. Present findings and opinions to senior management,
- Management of all regulatory exams and inquiries within region which impact GMO working closely with Lines of business as well as Compliance and regulatory relations.
- Management of internal and external audit exams/reviews and regulatory inspections as well as management of audit issues, operational events, privacy events and vendor management issues,
- Management of the impact assessments for Law, Rules and Regulations, Enterprise policy assessments as well as any licensing, registration and attestations required by regulators across GMO
- Be the regional point of contact for large scale cross product risk initiatives such as data management, record retention and non-financial regulatory reporting and drive resolution of the issues in region
- Serve as a ‘trusted advisor’ to APAC GMO and GMO management on risk and control issues and requirements
- Lead regional risk governance committees and routines and act as delegate for APAC GMO Head at other regional risk and governance forums
