**About Bioinformatics Institute**
The Bioinformatics Institute (BII) was set up by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in July 2001. Located in the Biopolis in Singapore, BII is conceived as the computational biology research and postgraduate training institute as well as a national resource centre in bioinformatics within the Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) of A*STAR.
The Bioinformatics Institute (BII) aims to understand the biomolecular mechanisms that underlie biomedical phenomena by developing sophisticated computational methods to support this discovery process from a secure and sustainable data hub to cross-disciplinary AI/ML analysis and data integration. We analyse a wide spectrum of biological and clinical data, including omics data (biomolecular sequences, expression profiles, epigenetics data), 3D structures of macromolecules, and biological tissue and macroscopic images from local and international academic, hospital and industry collaborators, public resources and from our own experiments. Our applied research diversifies into infectious diseases, computational toxicology, natural product research, precision medicine, cancer research, and drug discovery.
**Responsibilities**:
- Play a key role in deploying and developing comprehensive bioinformatics or computational modelling solutions for analyzing high-throughput and complex data. And to bring his/her solutions to the front end through formal software engineering principles.
- Develop database, algorithms, and machine-learning models of actual experimental datasets
- Analyze large experimental datasets and provide innovative solutions to fellow team members and collaborators
- Prepare and deliver research reports to colleagues, collaborators, and supervisor for internal and external scientific meetings
- Present data and analyses at meetings and scientific conferences
**Job Requirements**
- PhD in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer or Data Science
- Excellent skills in conceptualization and modeling complex and dynamical systems
- Fluent in multiple programming languages (Python, C++, Matlab, Javascript)
- Min. Years of Experience
- 2 years post-doctoral experience in reputable research organization
Other Requirements (e.g. Skills, Competencies)
- Demonstrated experience in modeling and analyzing dynamic and high-throughput biology
- Worked at the interface of mathematics, physics and biology
- Research publications in related areas
- Passionate with good interpersonal skills
- Independent and creative thinker
