The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

**Role Overview**:
The Associate will oversee the capital management and valuation of Short-term portfolios - retail health, employee benefits, and general insurance portfolio. This role involves conducting detailed analysis, driving business planning, and ensuring the sustainability of the portfolio from a solvency, profitability, and liquidity risk perspective.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform regular valuation of short-term portfolios, including monthly analysis of profit and solvency movements.
- Prepare regulatory reports and statistics.
- Conduct experience analysis of the portfolios (including IBNR) and recommend non-economic assumptions.
- Conduct stress testing and analysis on the retail health, employee benefits, and general insurance portfolios.
- Support management business planning and reforecasting exercises for short term portfolios.
- Participate in ICS and J-ESR field testing.
- Report on the Japanese Solvency Margin Ratio.
- Support pricing of General Insurance products, including providing capital and solvency assessments on new and major changes to existing GI products.
- Support Implementation of sound risk management policies.

**Requirements and Expectations**:

- 4 to 5 years of actuarial experience in life and health valuation, with a preference for experience in retail health, employee benefits, and general insurance areas.
- Good knowledge and experience with Singapore Risk Based Capital 2; experience with ICS is an advantage.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Self-driven, with excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders, including Finance, Data Analytics, Group business, General insurance, Regulators, and Group office.
- Nearly qualified or making good progress in actuarial exams with an internationally recognized actuarial body.
