**Category Manager - Marine Spare Parts**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Category Strategy & Planning**:Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for marine spare parts, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends. Create short
- and long-term plans to drive category growth and profitability.
- **Product Selection & Optimization**:Oversee the assortment of marine spare parts, ensuring the range meets market demand, customer needs, and regulatory standards. Continuously evaluate product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize the product offering.
- **Market & Competitor Analysis**:Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activity. Use this information to adjust the product offering, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
- **Sales & Profitability**:Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth, cost reduction, and margin improvement. Collaborate with the sales team to develop promotional strategies and initiatives to increase market share in the marine spare parts segment.
- **Inventory Management**:Work closely with the inventory and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce overstocking or stockouts, and ensure product availability across multiple channels.
- **Cross-functional Collaboration**:Partner with marketing, sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure effective execution of category strategies. Provide insights and support for product launches, promotions, and customer engagement efforts.
- **Budgeting & Forecasting**:Manage the category budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, pricing, and cost management. Track financial performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
- **Customer Feedback & Continuous Improvement**:Gather customer feedback and insights from the sales team to improve product offerings, identify gaps in the market, and enhance customer satisfaction.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or Product Manager, preferably in marine spare parts, marine equipment, or a related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of the marine industry, including key spare parts for various types of vessels, maintenance processes, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and interpret large amounts of data to drive strategic decisions.
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing strategy, and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively across different departments and with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and category management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar systems).
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of marine spare parts inventory management, logistics, and supply chain best practices.
