Job Description:
To support NTU Education 2025 and beyond, this role is critical as part of the Career & Attachment Office (CAO)’s strategy to develop NTU students into future-ready graduates. This strategic role of a Career Coach, Postgraduate (PG) with a dual role as a Career Business Partner to Schools and Colleges, guides, coaches and empowers NTU PG students in their personal self-discovery, career exploration and professional development, thereby enhancing their employability and employment aligned to their career interests and goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Coach and guide PG students in their career exploration and planning throughout their programme tenure with NTU.
3. Coach PG students in strategies for internships and job searches.
4. Coaching can specifically include but not limited to: goal setting, providing students with information and resources on career-related topics (job search strategies, resume writing, interview skills, networking skills, industry skills frameworks, career workshops etc).
5. Conduct small group coaching (1: 6-8) in resume critique and mock interview clinics.
6. Customise and deliver school-specific career initiatives and programmes to increase students' employability (e.g., career and industry talks, alumni-sharing sessions, and bespoke workshops).
7. Engage students, student groups, and faculty members in career awareness and preparation matters.
Job Requirements:
1. A recognised degree with 9 to 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in career coaching/counselling/career services/graduate recruitment/human resources/executive search/learning and development.
2. Change agent and constantly initiating new ideas within the College-level team of Career Coaches to increase awareness and CAO’s services to the students.
3. Relevant career coaching certification(s).
4. Possess qualifications/certification in self-assessment and career profiling tools.
5. Knowledgeable in traditional and technology/AI-enabled career coaching tools.
6. Knowledgeable of industries and workplace and employer expectations.
7. Strong initiative, self-motivated, and focused on helping students achieve career success.
8. Experience coaching high-performing students and early career talents.
9. Demonstrate ability to establish rapport and understand individual motivations, interests and skills and enable students to identify how these might be strengthened, what options might be suitable.
10. Work experience overseas is an advantage.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
12. Proficiency in Business Mandarin is an advantage.
13. Competent in conducting/presenting career-related workshops.
14. Active listener with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
15. Meticulous with strong organisational and administration skills.
16. Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
17. Proficient in MS Office tools.
