Singapore NATIONAL TRADES UNION CONGRESS Full time

NTUC Strategy plans for mid to longer-term strategies for the Labour Movement, manages and monitors strategy implementation, as well as conducts research and development of strategies for NTUC to stay future-ready and relevant. The intern will support the research team in their research projects and strategy papers.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct literature scanning and literature review
- Assist in designing of research instruments such as survey questions, focus group discussion questions and interview questions
- Assist in data collection, coding and analysis
- Contribute towards research outputs such as publications, reports, infographics, presentations and dissemination of findings
- Support in any other research-related administrative tasks if required

**Requirements**:

- Good degree in economics or social sciences or related discipline (Undergraduates are welcomed to apply)
- Good statistical knowledge is preferred
- Strong interest in research
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and able to work in teams and independently

**Technical Skills/Competencies**

**Outcomes of internship**

(after gaining the technical skills/competencies)
- Conduct literature scanning and literature review
- Develop appropriate research instruments e.g. interview, survey, focus group discussion questions, hackathon blueprint
- Collect data through multiple data collection methods e.g. survey, focus group discussion, interviews and hackathon
- Understand various worker profile groups and their needs and challenges
- Analyse data to formulate strategies and recommendations for the Labour Movement
- Report writing of literature review and research findings
- Present research ideas and findings to relevant partners (e.g. management of NTUC, academics, government agencies, union leaders, industry partners, etc)

**Training Programme**
- Orientation programme for new staff
- Mentoring by Strategy research team
- On-the-job training
- Any other training deemed required

**Developmental Plan**
- Involve in stakeholder engagement conducted with unions and Labour Movement partners
- Participate in research projects and develop research capabilities
- Involve in producing research outputs such as publications, reports, infographics, presentations and dissemination of findings

**Duration of internship**
- Full time or part-time
- Between 9 weeks to 6 months
- To commit mínimally 2.5 days a week for part time
- Hybrid work arrangement
