Singapore NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AND PHILANTHROPY CENTRE Full time

You will be involved in NVPC’s initiatives to understand and develop insights on the state of giving in Singapore. You will be expected to work with data and information gathered from various sources, such as NVPC’s online giving platform and surveys, to uncover insights on the giving landscape and trends in Singapore.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that conducts timely and relevant research to inform internal stakeholders and influence external partners, such as government agencies, non-profits, companies and funders.

**Case study of Groundup Initiatives
In partnership with Groundup Central (GUC), the Knowledge & Insights (K&I) team at NVPC studies Groundup Initiatives (informal, unregistered giving projects) in Singapore.

The team will be conducting an in-depth case study of Groundup Initatives in Singapore. The goal of which is to understand the value service users / beneficiaries (SUBs) can have when they start their own initiatives to give back. This will entail answering the following broad questions such as how receivers of help become givers themselves, what journies these GU starters go on and how can others benefit from their knoweldge.

The case study is currently underway and we require an individual to assit with the writing of the case study.

**Event series**

The K&I team at NVPC is planning a series of events to share their research with the wider sector. These events will cover a range of topics from Corporate Purpose to Individual Giving and as such will require the synthesis of multiple data sources and research studies to paint a complete picture.

The event series is currently being planned and as such would require an individual to help write the event materials as well as assit in execution of the events.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The intern will support the project lead across the entire project from:

- General project management of the study (Timeline management, updates to team members, communications to external parties etc.)
- Writing up research findings as project deliverables
- Presenting to Senior team members

**Desired qualifications**
- Pursuing or completed a degree preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or other related fields with strong writing elements such as Communications or Humanities.
- Preferably some experience with Literature review, academic writing (e.g., essays and dissertations) and research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong written skills in English.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly motivated, reliable and creative.
- Willing to learn new things.
- Some knowledge of the non-profit space through personal commitment as a volunteer/donor would be of benefit.
