The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

**Key Appointments**:

- Oversight of Prophet Modelling for Singlife Limited.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Drive Prophet model optimization (including coding, runtime improvement as well as enhancement in modelling methodology).
- Oversee the modelling of new products into Prophet, as well as enhancement of Prophet model due to inforce management initiatives.
- Responsible for robust Prophet management and governance practices.
- Regular maintenance/review of both Prophet deterministic and ALS model.

**Key Decisions within the Role**:

- Manage the modelling of new and existing products and ensure proper model governance.

**Requirements**:
Experience
- At least 7 years of actuarial experience in Prophet modelling and life valuation/capital management. Experience in Prophet ALS modelling and model management is preferred.
- strong knowledge/experience of Singapore Risk Based Capital 2. Experience in ICS is an advantage.
- Possess leadership experience in managing a small team.
- Self-driven and able to motivate team members to deliver projects on a timely basis.
- Great teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including Finance, IT, regulators, auditors and group office.

Education
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science (preferred)
- Professional Certification(s): Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Institute of Actuaries Australia (preferred)
