**Job Purpose**
This is a strategic role to coordinate the marketing colleagues to embed cultures across the APD region aligned with the climate agenda, and to support marketing colleagues to generate business opportunites from the ESG angle. This is basically an internal coordination role, and the communication skill with Tokyo head office is especially required for smoother Japan liaison and for robust internal reporting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Strategy formulation and internal coordination to embed ESG mindset within the department and all the marketing colleagues across the region.
- Enhance our internal data management framework to efficiently track the numbers and budget related to ESG activities.
- Bring in appropriate control within the department to align with the climate agenda within the department and.
- Support ESG-related discussions with clients while communicating with Relationship Managers (RMs) of local large corporates in to enable SMBC to find business opportunities.
- Update various ESG-related information and share with all the marketing colleagues across the region.
- Various coordination with internal and external stakeholders to constantly pursue the climate agenda.

**Job Requirements**
- Graduate degree from university
- Strong written & verbal communication skills in English
- Minimum 10 years Banking & Finance experience in Corporate Banking
- 2 years or more of ESG related business experience
- To demonstrate strategic and creative thinking in their area of business
- To derive a pareto optimization between profits and resources
- To demonstrate strategic and creative thinking in their area of business.
- To have a strong appreciation of the inherent risks that are involved in achieving goals
- Effective time management skills
- Analytical mindset and ability to enable process implementation
- To build and nurture relationships at all levels
- To ensure adherence to laid down risk and compliance frameworks
- Ability to articulate the right goals, set priorities and benchmarks
- Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as this role requires presenting and communicating to Japanese corporate clients whose main language is Japanese. This role also needs to prepare and present reports in Japanese
- Good understanding of ESG trend
- Good understanding of the functioning of various departments / teams in the organization
- In depth understanding of the risk environment in which the bank operates
- In depth understanding of the regulatory framework in which the bank operates
