Vp Apac Compliance Advisory

**Description**About this role**

As a member of the **APAC Investments Advisory Compliance Team** - this individual will work closely with their regional and global compliance counterparts to enhance and ensure a globally consistent Alternatives Investment Compliance framework for BlackRock’s global Alternatives Investors (BAI) strategy. Providing compliance and regulatory advice and guidance to a variety of Alternatives investment teams across the region and supporting other investment teams as required will be core to the role.

We are seeking an individual with exceptionally strong Alternatives Investment Compliance experience with either a strong track record in asset management, a buy-side financial services firm or sell-side banking institution.

Key Responsibilities_**
- Providing compliance and regulatory advice to BlackRock’s APAC Alternative investment teams, in particular to the Infrastructure businesses in our Real Assets platform
- Providing advice and guidance with respect to:

- compliance with local, regional and global laws, regulations, best practices and BlackRock’s policies and procedures; and
- based on a strong understanding of BlackRock’s fiduciary obligations and its commercial and business objectives.
- Collaboration with Financial Crime, Legal and Risk & Quantitative Analysis functions in the provision of advice and guidance to investment teams.
- Participation in global and/or regional compliance initiatives to ensure global best practices and consistency including in the regional coordination of tasks.
- Reviewing marketing and distribution materials in APAC for BlackRock’s Alternative investment teams
- Assisting in maintaining the integrity of BlackRock’s information barriers
- Monitoring local and regional regulatory developments and evaluating their impact on the business
- Liaising with regional and global compliance and business colleagues as necessary.

Qualifications:_**
- A minimum of 7 years relevant working experience in investment compliance in asset management, a buy-side global financial services firm or sell-side banking institution. Previous experience related to investment in Infrastructure or Real Assets strongly prepared
- An understanding of the regulatory environment for alternative investments across APAC is advantageous.
- An understanding of asset management compliance programs including monitoring and surveillance (e,g. controls around Insider Trading regulations and managing Conflicts of Interests)
- An understanding of financial crime such as AML and Anti Bribery and Corruption issues in APAC
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interact and negotiate with key internal and external business stakeholders.
- Strong written/oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- University degree in Law/Finance/Accounting/Business/Economics preferred.
