Laboratory Technician

Lab Technicians are responsible for receiving, analysing recording and reporting their test results. He/ She provides all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
- Perform analytical testing accurately and efficiently in accordance to established test methods.
- Standardize reagent/equipment, prepare titration solvent and test solutions when necessary.
- Effectively and safely operate and maintain lab equipment. Carry out minor troubleshooting of equipment.
- Record and maintain chemical and waste inventory.
- Ensuring lab supplies and consumables are well-stocked.
- Perform administrative work such as proper record keeping, data entry, COA generation, etc.
- Receive and store raw material, production and retention samples in accordance with company policies.
- Perform housekeeping to upkeep cleanliness of work station, apparatus and equipments.
- Working hours Mon - Friday (8am to 5.25pm) and on-call duties. Perform routine tasks according to SOPs in compliance with company HSE rules and quality policies.
**WORK SKILLS**:
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills in order to prioritize tasks according to urgency and be able to work on several test samples at the same time.
- Excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organisation.
- Knowledge of chemical safety and HSE awareness.
- Teamwork skills, discipline and independence.
- Good record-keeping skills are required, along with ability to basic maths calculations and computing skills.
- Ability to work with basic hand tools for maintenance of lab equipment.
